Meditation is a way to keep yourself focused and on track with your weight loss goals. Once you have figured out what your mental triggers are and how you have been sub-consciously eating. Here is how you can do that:
- Write down everything you eat, this helps you identify if you are eating out of habit rather than out of hunger.
- Track your food intake in a journal, this helps you lose twice as much weight according to a study done in 2008. When you see your progress in your journal it keeps you motivated and maintains focus.
- Identify your triggers - that is when you feel you want to eat rather than when you are hungry: Boredom, Work Stress, Driving in the car and Seeking reward for a job well done are some common triggers.
